"Diversity has been and continues to be a strategic priority for PBC. We rely on the talents and skills of our people to differentiate PBC in the marketplace. Every PBC employee contributes to the strength of the organization. It is their unique perspectives and experiences that have made PBC a success - and that will determine our success in the future.
"To that end, PBC thinks about diversity not as a program, but as a characteristic of our culture. To us, becoming "more diverse" means creating a more inclusive environment in which employees feel their differences are respected and their unique perspectives are valued - where diversity is woven into our employment practices, community outreach strategy and marketing plans rather than discussed as a separate discipline. I feel strongly that this integrated approach advances diversity in the most meaningful way, unleashing the unquenchable spirit and potential of our people."
- Eric J. Foss, President and Chief Executive Officer
For the second straight year, Diversity Inc. magazine has named PBC to its list of top 50 companies for diversity. The ranking process included an in-depth analysis of corporate diversity efforts, including CEO commitment, supplier focus, employment practices and corporate communications. PBC was ranked number 29.
Diversity allows PBC to better understand the markets we serve and be a more effective selling organization to ourincreasingly diverse customer base. By valuing and leveraging the contributions of all our employees, we are able to drive better business results. Different from some of the philosophies at other companies, PBC considers diversity to be any difference that makes an employee, consumer or customer unique. Differences may include race, gender, experience, work style, culture, religion, age, language, disability, sexual orientation and any other attribute that exists within our workplace and the communities in which we operate.
